Poetry, my escape

Music and poetry to me our escapes, and I believe they can be for anyone. Whenever I'm home I constantly listen to music, whenever I'm on a bus stop I'm constantly putting poems together in my head. No matter where I am, I'm doing this, therefore to me I'm not even really there. If I'm having a bad day or someone is irking me, I sing songs in my head, sometimes even out loud. I respect every type of music, that's something that a lot of so called music lovers don't do. I do have my favorites, but I'll listen to anything as long as its catchy. To me it's not about the instrumentals as much as it is the lyrics, because the lyrics to me are just a poem, but when its put with the instrumentals it then becomes a song. I love poetry so therefore I love music, from Country to Rap to Gospel, to me its all the same when it's down on paper. Writing has always been a big part of my life, but I think it evolved out of my love for reading. I could write a poem to describe feelings I never really felt since I was about 10, but you'd never be able to tell I never felt them. I still remember the first song I ever wrote, what I was doing when I wrote it, and who I first shared it with. Even though I lost the paper with the lyrics I would still be able to pull them back out of my brain, because like many other poems I've wrote, they're stored in there. Poetry and music to me are one in the same, a musician is merely a poet, a song writer is a poet, music is poetry. And it can take you as far as you let it, because no matter what there is always someone with an interest in music.

Whats the difference?

Recession? Depression? What's the difference?

A recession is when your neighbor loses his job.

A depression is when you lose your job.(about)

Although the above is a pretty funny it still doesn't clarify for me, what the difference between a recession and a depression is. A recession is said to be a decline in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for two or more consecutive quarters, if your anything like me than that means absolutely nothing. So more simply a recession is a widespread decline in the GDP and employment and trade lasting from six months to a year. A depression is a severe economic downturn that lasts several years. With that being said, my real question is will this economic crisis be a brief recession, or is it in fact the beginning of a depression?

Who or What is to blame for this so called "recession" anyway? I guess the reason why no one is asking that is because its better to try and fix it rather than pointing the finger. However, I just would like to know, where did the economy go wrong exactly? Can we blame it on the Bush administration, the war, or the companies that are going over seas? I myself don't know who to blame it on, but the more I think about blaming is becoming less and less important. We need a plan, a plan to fix it. So my newly apposed question is, Will the Obama administration, with the help of supporting Americans, have what it takes to prevent a depression? What do you think. . .

Drake

http://www.myspace.com/thisisdrake

I've been listening to Drake for about two or three years now... I've been a fan of his for many more, since Degrassi first aired. Lol, anyway to me he is one of the most talented in the music industry by FAR. I'm a big fan of His as well as Jay-z, Kayne West, and Lil Wayne. Jay-z being my favorite and Lil Wayne my second, and Kayne West as well as Drake falling somewhere in there, However, Drakes on his way to number two, One is untouchable as far as I'm concerned.

Stock Market at its Lowest???

stock market at its lowest in 11 years.

the above article proves that a reccession is definately the reality for every American. So the question is . . . bailout, or no bailout for American Car Companies?

I think that when over two million jobs are at stake, then there should be something put in place to prevent the job loss, in this case a bailout is just that. However, it's congress' decision.

Above, Vanessa Paradis, a french singer and actress is featured on this months vogue cover.
Oh yeah i forgot to mention, she's married to Johnny Depp, the ultimate heart throb. Anyway, I just wanted to point that out. Back to the cover, I don't know what exactly it says for you, her lips are wonderful, I like her makeup in general. But for the sake of whoever decided she should do that with her eyes I'm going to say they had good intentions. Which I do believe, I just think it was a little too much of a try, I don't know though. Her gap in between her teeth is kind of signature, as was Keyshia Coles before she got new teeth. How many of you have noticed that? And when exactly did you notice? This past Sunday I was watching "The Way It Is" I noticed her gap was gone for the first time. Now i'm not big on watching TV so that may be why. But, I'm just wondering how everyone feels about that? If you had something signature, would you allow the industry to influence you to change?

An Economic Recession

recession

noun
1. the state of the economy declines; a widespread decline in the GDP and employment and trade lasting from six months to a year

Have you or anyone around you been negatively effected by whats happening with the global economy? If your answer to the previous question is NO, then I'll assume you've been on Mars for the last three months or more. Everyone, and I do mean everyone has been effected. Now the question I have to answer is what exactly is going on with the global economy? Many will say it's a recession, or just the beginning of what is yet to come, maybe even the Great Depression^2. However what is a recession? Is it just the definition I gave or is it more? I myself am not totally sure but that is one of the main purposes of my blog, to find out, to discover what millions around the world, exceeding the United States, are experiencing as a result of the current economic status. I know the basics, Billions of jobs have been lost and millions of dollars due to the crash of the stock market. Amongst all of the problems arousing from the economic crisis I would have to say that the thing that has really got my attention personally is the amount of families, and elderly people who have lost their homes due to the economy. Although this particular issue hasn't hit home for me, I'm sure it has for many of you. I personally don't know of anyone who it has officially happened to yet, but I do know many people who are afraid that they may be the next victim. However, other issues like the health care crisis have hit home for me. This past June my father got a job at Sigma Aldrich, after a year of unemployment. In September he was diagnosed with MS, deeming him unable to work. He lost his job and as of October 31,2008 his health care insurance expired. Since then my mother has been struggling to provide him with the medicine and physical therapy he needs, and she's even had to borrow money on more than one occasion. But, that's not my purpose, my purpose is to make sure those who are unaware become aware of the economic recession. Or to make those who have been effected by it, know that they too are not alone.
